The City Of.......Light's

Jim punched a zombie and got on the truck.

Kurt was busy fighting the zombies but looked at Garrett.His mouth hung open. "No. NO!!! IT WAS ME WHO DID THIS!! WHY? WHY?!!!"
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!"

"Garett?.... Garett!!"

Kris got down on her knees and turned him over on his back, but still held his head up as he coughed up more blood. She placed his arm around her neck and pulled him up on his feet with someone else's help. She didn't know who it was since she wasn't thinking right. Kris took Garett to the seat where her stuff was and immediately started treating more of his wounds and other medical procedures. Her mind was racing as she worked hard to help. There was already enough medicine in him of the newer cure that could work, and it was still working in him. Kris looked up at the people in front of her.

"Come on and drive out of here now!"

She went back down to Garett and tried wipping away the blood from his mouth. Her etyes finally started to hurt from holding back the tears, and now a few escaped from her grasp and down her cheek. Please, please, please work.... Oh God please let him live....

"Kris..." Garett managed to gasp out...

Kris looked down at Garett then back at the arm wound so she could finish wrapping it up. After making some quick adjustments, she looked back down at Garett. She just wanted to tell him to not talk because it still too so much for him to say one work, but she couldn't bare to tell him.

"I'm not giving up, so don't argue with me, please."

"Kris..." Garett coughed up blood again..."I'm sorry..." He coughed again..."I'm sorry....I couldn't keep my promise..."

Kris grabbed a nearby pillow and placed it under Garett's head so he wouldn't choke on the blood that's coming out. She also grabbed a towel and wiped off more of his blood coming out of his mouth as she puts on the finishing touches of another injury he had.

"I forgive you Garett."

Kris could hear Kurt in the background and wished that he wasn't in pain right now either. Today has been very emotional and hard for a lot of them. She just wished that it would pass now.

Garett reached up and rubbed his bloody hand across the side of her face..Holding it and admiring it in his last moments of life...His arm dropped to the ground lifeless, his blood now on Kris's cheek...He coughed again..."Kris...I can't feel...I can't feel anything.."

Kris felt her warm tears run down her cheek. Some of the blood from his hand that he left on her cheek started to run a little too. She did all she could and wished to do more as long as she could. No words came to her head. Only tears. Kris placed a hand on Garett's cheek. His face was cold compared to her warm hand. When she tried to speak, her voice kept getting caught.

"I'm sorry.... I wish I could do so much more.... to help."

"It's not your fault..." Garett coughed up more blood...The world seemed dim and quiet...Tunnel vision now...Garet was fading...And nothing was going to bring him back...He looked up at Kris..His eyes starting to tear..."Kri-...Kris I...I love.." Garett had lost the strength to say another word...He quietly closed his eyes and his blood ran cold...His heart came to a halt...and Garett lay lifeless before Kris...

Kris's hand stayed there, cold and motionless. She was too stunned that he was dead. It all came through so fast and she couldn't do anything more. Kris cried even more and whispered to him, even though he wouldn't be able to hear anymore.

"I.... I love you too."

All she did was sob and cry by his side. She didn't move from her position and can't do any more.

Kurt looked as Kris lay sobing. Garret was Dead. AND IT WAS ALL HIS FAULT. He looked at his pistol. Should he?He cocked the hammer and pointed it into his mouth...
"Vallhalla, I am Coming......."

Jim used a fireball to blast the pistol. "No way, bub."

(AW! Go nightkill! Savin a buddys life...I could cry...But im not gay so I wont.)

Max turned to look back at the others on the bus as they mourned the fallen man. He turned away, remembering how his dad had been attacked, but he didn't have to go through the process of watching him slowly die and turn.
Max looked back at the swarms of zombies around the bus and the other guy.
"There is no way in hell I'm letting two people die in the same day," Max said, regaining control over his tongue. He slammed his foot on the gas pedal, causing everyone not strapped in to lurch back. He rammed through the hordes, blood and zombie bile covering the windshield.

Light quickly followed the bus in his jeep, running over as many zombies as he could, forcing a path to the rear end of the bus. He said over the radio "Ther is a fuckin lot of zombies in las vegas, isnt there garret?" ((Light doesnt know that garret died.))

Jonathan fires again, he yells for anyone still alive to hear;
"GUYS LET'S GET MOVING!"

Kris didn't know how long she's been crying, but evenrutally she ran out of tears. Garett was gone, and she could do nothing more. If only a miracle could happen, but what were the chances of that? She brought her hand down from his cheek looks down at his lifeless face for one more time, then pulled the blanket over him. She cleared away everything and puts them away. She sat down after a bit and just stared out the window where they were really passing by and leaving Las Vegas. She hoped they would find a calmer place then here so they could drop Garett off and say final words to him. She tried not to think of it, but it was all hard. One man was gone, and who knows who's next. She would do whatever she could to keep them alive and give her best to help them. After a while, Kris remembered Garett's blood on her cheek. She grabbed a cloth and carefully wiped it off.

"God damnit!.....THERE HAS TO BE SOMEWAY TO GET HIM BACK FUCK WHERE IS THE MEDICAL ATENTION WE NEED...WHERE THE HELL IS THE CURE , CAN'T WE STOP THIS GOD FORSAKEN INFECTION THERE MUST BE SOMEWAY... i cannot bare seeing all these people lose their lives ,i may not know that man but i do know he was a great fighter...fearless if you may say or he could of been just down right wreckless" J pulls out a small chain with dog tags on them...."my tags from serving i think he should have these...after all he did go out in a bang right?" Placing them on Garrets chest J calls out:"somebody put a bullet in him i cant find it in me to do it myself....i know i don't call the shots but we gotta keep moving , i need ammo......." J walks up to Kris: Hey i know i may not know you but hear me out we all have lost someone dear but we must keep fighting.....Im Sorry....

Kris nodded her head at him, but after hearing the part he said about putting a bullet to Garett's head was too much. She tried her best and he died. Did they really have too? She looked up at the man he who called himself J.

"Listen I was the medical person that stayed with him and tried my very best to save him. Sorry that things weren't they way they used to be where we'd have better technology and it wasn't the infection that killed him. He lost a lot of blood and fought litterally to death. there was nothing more I could do."

She almost cried again as she spoke, but she kept her expression serious. However after a moment, it returned to calm and fallen.

"But you're right though about keep on fighting. I did lose people and I think I lost more than I thought, but this was the first time that I tried to save someone's life and they end up dying."

Max, still driving the bus through the hordes of zombies, listened to what was going on behind him. He flinched when he heard someone talk about putting a bullet into the man who died, and this was apparent to everyone, seeing as he made the bus swerve in a small, sharp, right turn.
Max continued driving, but a small tear rolled from the corner of his eye as he remembered when his dad was attacked. Max remembered how he begged and pleaded for a bullet, and Max had given it to him. He had killed the last family member he ever had.
Quickly reaching up, Max lifted up his glasses and wiped the tear away.

Kurt watches the Pistol fly out of his hands then back at Jim.He flips him off then turns his back too him, pulling out his machete, and readies it for him to commit seppuku (Ritual Samurai Suicide).
"Why?"

Kris noticed what was going on the Kurt and immediately reacted without thinking. She jumped from her seat and took hold of the machete and separated it from Kurt.

"Kurt please please please don't even think about it or do that again. I'm not going to sit by and let another of my friends die in front of me again."

Max drove the bus at full speed through the swarms of zombies, and soon reached the edge. They moved out of Las Vegas, a couple zombies following them, but they weren't fast enough for the bus, not even another one of those strange, leaping zombies.
Max kept his foot to the pedal.

After about a half hour, Max had eased up on the gas to conserve what gas they had in the tank. They had gotten pretty far away from the zombies in Las Vegas, and were now in the middle of a desert road. A buzzard perched on a cactus to their left.
Max brought the bus to a stop and looked back at the others on the bus.
